July Update

Summer vacation is coming to an end! The kiddos are heading back to school soon. Historically in the Az market we see new contracts increase weekly over the next month. Now’s the time to be following up with those clients that have been out of town escaping the heat.

Over the summer Jen tries to keep our boys' schedules pretty jam packed with activities. There isn’t much down time in the Laughton household as I’m sure like many of yours.

One of the most impactful activities that Blake(11) and Liam(8) were involved in was a youth leadership program through Elite Youth. As a wrap up to the summer camp activities they requested that the parents show up the last three days for a couple hours each day so that the kids could share what they had learned. It was a great experience!

One of my favorite moments of those three days was when Blake was called up on stage to teach the parents how to set personal and family goals. Proud Dad moment! He walked us through the four key categories of goal setting: Family, Personal/Work, Health(mental & physical) and Fun.

What made this experience truly special was the hands-on activity that followed. Each of us, parents and kids, received an 8” x 10” wooden board and was asked to write their goals out on the front side of the board. Then on the back we were to write the obstacles and challenges that stood between us and our goals. This exercise reminded me that the path to success is rarely a smooth ride, and there will always be hurdles to overcome.

We carried those boards around all 3 days. On the last day, as part of the grand finale, we were asked to break through our wood boards, one by one, to represent breaking through our barriers and making our dreams a reality. The kids' energy and hope filled the room as boards splintered. Such a tangible reminder that with the right mindset, support and persistence, we can conquer any obstacles that come our way.

What obstacles are getting in the way of achieving your goals? Some of the obstacles I face include ineffective prioritization, time management, poor planning, etc

As I work on breaking through those obstacles to help ensure I reach my goals, I encourage you to do the same.

For example, can poor time management be an obstacle for you as it is for me? If so, try using a detailed calendar and schedule your goal-reaching steps during times when you know there aren’t other commitments in the way.

Overcome your obstacles and help ensure you meet your goals, starting with those highest on your priority list.

We’ve been playing around quite a bit with different tech products that bolt on to Follow Up Boss. Trying to determine which ones actually increase our mid funnel conversion. Fire bullets and then cannonballs! (Good to Great - Jim Collins)

Within a week of having these turned on we have our highest engagement rate of all of our campaigns with 70% response rate on the Back to Website campaign and 62% on our Stale Campaigns.


Fello: Fello takes nurturing seller leads to a whole different level. Fello allows us to create a custom seller lead experience; including personalized seller journeys, home value dashboards, and monthly emails. We are engaging old seller/buyer opportunities in our database to get more listings. We have added 20,000 of our seller leads this week so far we have sent out 1309 emails, had 62 engagements and 1 request for a home valuation. Looking forward to seeing how these numbers increase.


Looking Forward: The Next 30 Days

Justin McLellan has been working on a Stable of Stories: We love data. As I mentioned last month.. data tells us a story. It is the story that brings the data home. I think Brene Brown put it best when she said, “Stories are data with a soul!” When you see your clients headed down the wrong path, listing at the wrong price, working with big bank lender, etc. Don’t just share the data. Share a story about somebody who went down a similar path and how it turned out for them. Be on the lookout for these stories being weaved into your meetings. If you have a story, share it! It’s so helpful!
